Premiere: American Horror Story Season 4

American Horror Story welcomes the Halloween season with the release of the opening title sequence for Freak Show. Watch the opening credits here!

One week before the season premiere, Ryan Murphy tweeted out the opening title sequence for the fourth installment of his FX series. As the calendar flips over to the honorary witching month of October, get in the spirit with the creepy circus toy themed credits that will precede the show each week!

The stop motion animation features the familiar AHS background credit music, but when it is mixed with the eerie sounds of the carnival music box notes, a new feeling of childhood terror arises. There are clowns abound, both typical carnival style entertainers and worn out relics of long ago. The skeletons displayed throughout the tent represent the various shapes and forms of the performers.

The cymbal playing monkey does little to comfort viewers with his evil gaze as the scene pans from creatures swapping heads to a three legged woman with a less than PG placement of the that third appendage.

Several freak show acts make an appearance as the survey of the toy land proceeds, but the flashback to the balloon animal creator reminds us that there is no escaping the overwhelming presence of the re-imagined killer clown.
